Today is Chris' B-day! He decided we should go to the Central Park Zoo. It's a small zoo, so you can see everything in about 45 minutes! There were sea lions, red pandas, snow monkeys, tamarins, polar bears, puffins, penguins, a rain forest, and harbor seals. There were two species of penguins - Chinstrap and Gentoo. My favorite was the Chinstrap penguins. They are so huggable, cute and cuddly. I wish I could sleep with one.
Blue Wilderness made Chris a cake, so they came over in the evening to celebrate. I am J.©
And the Yankees win, the Yankees win!
Last night we got tickets to a Yankees game. We sat on the 3rd base line, just past 3rd base. We were right near Jeter and A-Rod. The stadium is old and they are building a new, bigger stadium for next year. There are now only 32 games left to be played in this stadium.
In the first inning, Derek Jeter scored, so that was a lot of excitement. In the 6th inning, Sydney Poison (the Yankees pitcher) gave up a homerun. So now we were tied and the game was pretty boring until the 9th inning when the score was still tied and we almost won, but whoever was at bat got the third out, so it went into extra innings. In the 10th inning, Derek Jeter got walked and Bobby Abreu hit a nice line drive to get him home. So the game ended like it started. And the Yankees win, the Yankees win!
We had a good dinner with cupcakes for dessert. They were special cupcakes that we bought at the Magnolia Bakery for Chris' birthday. The icing was packed high and super thick. They were good. I am happy.©
We stayed on the boat all day. We were going to go to the marina for an internet signal. But Mr. Bob from a boat next to us brought us an internet antenna, so we didn't have to leave. I got bored because Chris happily worked on the website and wouldn't play with me, so I read ¾ of today.
Tonight we played a game of Scrabble. I almost won, but Chris took the lead in the end. I am happy.©
This morning was just as boring as yesterday. We worked on the website and got a late start on the day.
In the afternoon, we walked to the Museum of Natural History. We went to the African Mammals, Dinosaurs, and Gems. My favorite was the gems. We found my birthstone, peridot, and Mom's birthstone, Topaz, but we couldn't find Chris' birthstone, ruby. I am happy. ©
Today was great! At 12:30pm, we went to Central Park for a 1:00pm marionette show at the Swedish Cottage. There is a concert in the park at 8:00pm and there were police everywhere. They even had some of the entrances to the park blocked off and we had to walk a long way to get to the Swedish Cottage. Marionettes are string puppets. We saw Jack and the Beanstalk. It was cool.
We watched the movie "Oliver!" It is a good movie. I am happy.©
This morning we did laundry. Mom worked some more on the website. Chris and I helped and when we weren't helping, we played.
In the afternoon we walked to Central Park again. Chris flew a kite, but sometimes he played with the tennis ball with me. I watched some people play softball for a while. They were alumni from Washington University, the university Mom and Dad went to. Then I found some people playing catch and I joined in and had fun. I am J.©
Today we were going to go to Coney Island, but it rained, so we worked on the website all morning. In the afternoon, we walked up to Broadway and went to the movies. We saw Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. This is 3rd version of this movie that I have seen, but the first time in 3D. We wore special glasses to be able to see the 3D. Both Mom and I kept taking our glasses on and off at the beginning of the movie to see if it was any different. It was. This was the best version that I have seen. I am happy.©
